The Indian Army is one of the most powerful and organized armies in the world. The Indian Army has proven its capabilities on all three fronts - land, water and air. From terrorism to the security of borders, the Indian Army is ready to face every challenge. Now the Indian Air Force is going to increase the tension of Pakistan and China with its strength. Actually, the Indian Air Force is preparing to buy 114 new medium range fighter aircraft to increase its strength. A committee of the Ministry of Defense has justified this need because the old Soviet-era fighter aircraft are now retiring and the number of Air Force squadrons is decreasing due to the lack of new aircraft. This is the first time since 1965 that the Air Force squadrons have decreased so much. New aircraft have become necessary to meet this shortage.
Air Force Chief AP Singh has said that new fighter aircraft should be manufactured on the C-295 model. This is the same model under which Airbus and Tata are jointly manufacturing military transport aircraft in India. Similarly, any foreign company will partner with an Indian company and make these fighter planes in India. This will create new employment opportunities for Indian people and will also increase technical capability.
Big companies like Boeing (F/A 18 Super Hornet), Lockheed Martin (F 21), Dassault (Rafale) and Saab (Gripen) can be involved in this deal. Of these, Boeing and Mahindra have already discussed this project. At the same time, Lockheed Martin can work together with Tata. However, its F-35 aircraft will not join this race, because India wants new aircraft to be made in India and technology transfer should also take place.
This deal is very important not only for the Air Force but also for the Indian defense industry. This will create new employment opportunities in India and increase self-reliance in defense production. This deal will give global recognition to India's defense industry and will also improve the strategic preparations of the country. Now it remains to be seen which company bags this big deal and contributes to strengthening India's defence capability.
